West Bank Attraction Options

Valley of the Kings

Step into the final resting place of pharaohs, including Tutankhamun. Explore a selection of beautifully decorated tombs (typically 3 tombs are included in the general admission ticket, with extra fees for specific tombs like Tutankhamun’s). Marvel at the vibrant hieroglyphs and ancient artwork that depict the journey to the afterlife.

Valley of the Queens

Discover the tombs of queens and royal children, with the most famous being the tomb of Queen Nefertari (requires an extra, often significant, ticket). The remaining tombs offer a glimpse into the lives and beliefs of ancient Egyptian royalty.

Tombs of the Nobles

Explore the private tombs of high-ranking officials and scribes. These tombs offer a fascinating contrast to the royal tombs, showcasing daily life, professions, and personal beliefs through their intricate wall paintings. Your driver can recommend the most accessible and impressive noble tombs open on the day of your visit. (Sennefer & Rekhmire tombs).

Deir El-Medina (Workmen’s Village)

This unique site was home to the artisans who built the royal tombs. Explore the well-preserved houses, a small temple, and the remarkable tombs of the workmen themselves, offering a rare insight into ancient Egyptian daily life and social structure.

Medinet Habu (Temple of Ramses III)

A truly impressive and often less crowded temple complex. Medinet Habu is renowned for its well-preserved, vibrant reliefs depicting Ramses III‘s military victories and religious festivals. The sheer scale and detail are breathtaking.

Colossi of Memnon

These two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple, which has largely disappeared. A quick photo stop is usually sufficient, offering a grand sense of the scale of ancient Egyptian architecture.

Hatshepsut Temple (Deir el-Bahari)

A magnificent architectural marvel dedicated to the female pharaoh Hatshepsut. Built into the cliffs, its terraced design and elegant colonnades are truly unique. Explore the various chapels and reliefs that tell the story of her reign.

East Bank Exploration(Choose 1-2 attractions)

Karnak Temple of Amun

The largest ancient religious site in the world, Karnak is a sprawling complex of temples, chapels, pylons, and obelisks dedicated to the Theban Triad. Spend ample time wandering through the hypostyle hall with its towering columns, explore the sacred lake, and marvel at the sheer scale of this ancient city of gods.

Luxor Temple

Located in the heart of modern Luxor, this beautiful temple is particularly stunning at sunset or illuminated at night. Connected to Karnak by an ancient avenue of sphinxes, Luxor Temple was primarily used for festivals and rituals dedicated to the god Amun. Allow 1.5 – 2 hours.

Luxor Museum

A well-curated museum housing a superb collection of artifacts from Luxor and the surrounding area, including exquisite statuary, funerary items, and objects from Tutankhamun’s tomb. It offers a valuable insight into the art and history of ancient Egypt.
