Sultana Dahabiya Nile Cruise: 3-Night Sailing Aswan to Esna
Experience the magic of the Nile at a slower, more intentional pace aboard the Sultana Dahabiya Nile Cruise.
This 3-night journey from Aswan to Esna offers a refined escape from the crowds. It combines the elegance of traditional Egyptian sailing with the comforts of a luxury boutique cruise.

Itinerary
Day 1: Aswan Sightseeing & The Journey Begins
Your adventure begins in the sun-drenched city of Aswan. After a warm welcome by your guide, you will set out to explore the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Visit the Philae Temple, a majestic sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. You will also see the Aswan High Dam, a feat of modern engineering.
Once on board, you will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch as the Sultana Nile Cruise begins its graceful journey downriver.
The afternoon is dedicated to the rhythm of the river. We will anchor at a quiet Nile Island for a guided walk through the countryside. This offers a rare glimpse into the rural life of Upper Egypt.
As the sun sets, enjoy a gourmet dinner on the sundeck under a canopy of stars.
Meals: lunch, dinner

Day 2: Kom Ombo & The Sandstone Quarries
After a peaceful breakfast on deck, we arrive at the Temple of Kom Ombo. This unique “double temple” is dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder.
The symmetry of the architecture and the fascinating Crocodile Museum nearby make this a standout stop.
The cruise then continues toward Gebel el-Silsila. This site was once the most important sandstone quarry in ancient Egypt. It provided the stone for nearly all the great temples.
You will explore the rock-cut chapels of pharaohs like Horemheb and Ramses II. Stand where ancient masons carved history into the cliffs. We spend the night moored in a secluded spot, far from the lights and noise of the city.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 3: The Temple of Horus at Edfu
On your third day, we reach Edfu, home to the Temple of Horus. It is the most well-preserved cult temple in all of Egypt. You will travel to the site by a traditional horse-drawn carriage, passing through the vibrant local streets.
Inside the temple, the towering pylons and intact roof provide a powerful sense. You can feel how these spaces felt thousands of years ago.
Returning to the Sultana Dahabiya, we sail toward Esna. This stretch of the Nile is remarkably beautiful, filled with lush palm groves and local fishermen in their wooden feluccas.
In the evening, the crew often prepares a special traditional Egyptian dinner on the sundeck. They celebrate your final night on the water with music and storytelling.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 4: Disembarkation at Esna
After one last breakfast overlooking the river, you will disembark in Esna.
From here, you are perfectly positioned to continue your journey to Luxor. There, you can explore the Valley of the Kings, the Hatshepsut temple, and the Karnak complex.
You leave the Sultana not just with photos, but with the peace that only a Dahabiya Nile cruise can provide.
