Monastery of St Simeon with Felucca Riding begins with picking you up from your hotel in Aswan or your Nile cruise boat to the jetty.

You will sail from the East bank of the Nile to the west bank. Otherwise, you may go to the jetty from which camels could be organized to the Monastery of St Simeon.

We will have a 15-minute Felucca ride to the jetty. Then we will begin our camel adventure to the Monastery of St. Simeon in supreme silence and amid a beautiful desert landscape.

The tour takes about 30 minutes to reach the monastery. After that, your guide will show you how the Monastery of St Simeon is one of the largest Coptic monasteries in Egypt. It dates back to the 6^th or 7^th century and is located opposite the southern tip of the Elephantine Island.

You will see with your guide that most of the main buildings are still in good condition of conservation. These include the towers, the domed church, and some of the Coptic scenes, like frescoes beside the main functional areas on the second level. For example, you will see the cooking place, the taking place, the washing place, and the sleeping place.

After you finish your visit to the Monastery of St. Simeon, you will enjoy a camel ride back to the felucca, which will sail to a lovely place where you can swim in the Nile. Then the Felucca Nile will sail back to the nearest place to your Nile cruise boat, or you will go back to your hotel if you stay in a hotel.
